What's The Best Treadmill?
Treadmills are great for burning calories fast, in fact, a 20 minute run at a moderate pace will use up over 300 calories. This is higher than any other piece of fitness equipment. Running is also a great way to tone up and get rid of the flabby bits.
Modern treadmills have quite advanced consoles with pre-set programmes that control the speed and incline of the deck. For example, you can have hill runs that alternate the incline (although you can't run downhill yet on a treadmill :0/) or interval training that lets your sprint and jog to recover.
More recently heart rate controlled programmes can control the deck to keep your heart in the optimum zone for fat burning or enhancing fitness. These are very popular and many machines costing over £500 will have them.
These pre-set programmes are great for adding variety to your training which helps to keep you motivated. Many treadmills have user profiles that track the times of more than one person so you can see how much fitter you're getting.
